A quick visit back home in Norway

After life on the hard for quite a few weeks, we decided to take a break as we were waiting for the work to progress. We went to Norway to visit family and friends.

As we arrived in the middle of August, we were lucky that some still had not finalized their summer holidays. We started out hanging out with Bruse’s family in Fredrikstad and Hvaler.

At Hvaler with Bruse’s brother’s family and Uncle Bjørn.
The first time we meet our nieces, Eloise and Karine.

We moved on to visit Carine’s family in Oslo, and were lucky that her brother living in London, was there with his three daughters. It became a real family reunion – only two from the London family missing.

We are lucky that several of our friends have second vacation homes outside the city, and we went both South to Sandefjord, and to the mountains to Hemsedal.

Langoustines 😋
Mushroom heaven in both Sandefjord…
And in Hemsedal!
The weather in Hemsedal was not great, but oh, so fresh!

We ended our stay back home with a tradition of six years now, and that is a crayfish feast at a friend’s place in Sweden.

After 14 months away from family and friends, it was really nice to see them again. Even with three weeks in Norway, we still missed meeting some of our friends. Time just flew by!

We have met new friends along the way, which is giving us so much joy. But, hanging out with people who have known you most of your life is really an energy boost. We leave Norway with lots of energy, and are looking forward to moving back onto Noxoma for our “second” season! 🥰
