We are Bruse and Carine – two Norwegians who have dreamt for a long time to one day sail the world. Carine’s childhood dream was to live many places around the globe, and Bruse’s childhood dream was to explore and sail the world. Those dreams are definitely easy to combine!
We plan to use this journey not only to enter a new life stage, but also to;
- Explore the world: Our joint sense of curiosity about this world and the oceans above and below the surface, are driving forces that make this adventure possible.
- Discover new things: We believe in lifelong learning, and will use this journey to learn more about the oceans, other cultures, food conservancy and lots of other things that we probably don’t know anything about yet.
- Conserve nature: Nature and natural resources are under great stress. We plan to find out along the way how we can contribute with the conservation of our planet in the best possible way.
Our guiding principles for this adventure are therefore: Explore. Discover. Conserve. Our combined experiences and love for nature and our oceans will guide us along the way as we discover how to do this in our own way.
We both have previous boat experience, mostly from recreational sailing and the use of smaller power boats. Bruse has also worked offshore on commercial vessels throughout his career. We both hold the D5LA Deck Officer Class 5 Pleasure Craft Certificate.
About Bruse
Bruse is a mathematician by education with a Master of Science from the University of Oslo. He has worked as a rocket scientist, satellite communications expert, software developer, ocean tech engineer, IT security expert and several other tech jobs both offshore and onshore. He is analytical, a natural at problem solving and is extremely handy. Bruse is always calm when challenges arise. And – he is a very good chef.
About Carine
Carine has been an international business executive at several tech startups and scaleups since the dotcom era. She is more than average interested in exploring how new developments bring about changes for industries, businesses, people and the society at large. She holds a Master in Business Administration from Boston University, MA and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. Carine is also a hobby artist and designer, and draws, paints, sews clothes and has designed our logo.
