We have finally moved on board Noxoma, after eight weeks in the AirBnb apartment! It truly felt good to spend our first evening, night and morning on the boat. And we are really happy with the alterations we have chosen. We are comfortable and are loving boat life!
However, we were getting very anxious to get sailing, after only 1.5 hour out at sea about seven weeks ago. So, we were soooo happy when we were able to go on two sea trials over the past few days!
We spent the first day testing our new performance sails from North Sails. We have purchased a new main sail, new Genoa and a Code 65 sail from them.
The day was a bit grey, and there was not that much wind, but we did manage to test all three of them, and they all performed really well.
We also ensured we practiced some docking skills, which we have been quite curious about. Without much surprise, Bruse excelled at it, and Carine needs some more training. We both docked the boat alongside the pier and into a berth, so we are confident that we will become docking experts without too much damage to the gel coat 😁
The second day, we tested out our “wing spinnaker”, an Oxley Levante sail. It was an evening sail, and we witnessed a really beautiful sunset. We were really pleased with both the performance and the design of the sail.
We ended the evening with a little more practice docking, and it is clear that Bruse is now ready to take us safely in and out of the tightest berths!
