We are so happy to finally have baptized Noxoma. The branding of the boat has been done for a couple of days, and with a lot of work still taking place on the boat, it was easy to put it off until she is complete.
However, we decided to do it sooner rather than later, and got the boat all cleaned up for a proper celebration. We invited our new Capetonian friends, which means fellow boaters from the marina as well with some local friends we have met.
As is customary, we selected a day of the week, Wednesday, which does not represent bad luck (so no Thursday or Friday). And, we had a branch on the boat to symbolize safe passages back to land.
Last, but not least, we selected some nice bubbles. During wine tasting from a member club we recently joined, The Cellar Club, we found some really good pink bubbles from the Hazendal Wine Estate.
Carine gave a speech on our behalf, and then we together smashed the bottle. A little tough without prepping the bottle ahead of time, we discovered. Three times a charm!
