Since we sold our house in Oslo, we have moved to our lodge in the mountains, in Hemsedal. It is the best ski destination in Norway (we are totally not biased).
Hemsedal has a great combination of being a good area for free skiing, slope skiing, cross country as well as its proximity to Western Norway with its beautiful fjords – making it a great year round destination.

Not to mention all of the great restaurants and bars that are located here. This little town can offer some really good places to eat out, our favorites are Kjøkkenkroken for dinner, Skigaarden for lunch, and Arti Kafé for coffees and the best cinnamon rolls you will ever have. Hemsedal also has the world’s largest after ski scene at legendary Stavkroa, which many times has been voted the world’s best afterski .
Sitting in bed in the morning looking at the ski slopes and planning a sail in the tropics feels exotic on some many levels! We feel soooo fortunate to experience the best of summer living and the best of winter living.
